A iconic magazine cover I have done some research is Vanity Fair's 1991 cover 'More Demi Moore'. It featured a nude photo of a 7 month pregnant 28-year-old actress Demi Moore. The photograph was taken by Annie Lebovitz. Since the covers release several celebrities have posed for photographs in the advance stages of pregnancy.
Photos were taken of Moore in a selection of different outfits including spiked heels and lacy underwear and a revealing night gown. The final selection was Moore wearing only a diamond ring. The photo was in a way an attempt to combat the media's representation of a culture that values thinness. There was a very split reaction to the magazine cover. There were many complaints of sexual objectification as well as several people embracing the photograph as a symbol of empowerment.
New Zealand born make-up artist and body painter Joanne Gair. The make-up featured is featured is fairly simple and natural. It does not feature a very heavy eye make-up or bold lip. The hair is also kept natural which fits in well with the photo as it is quite intimate.
