Face Lace

-In today’s lesson we looked at using face lace. You can pre-make a face lace by sticking wool or thread onto a polystyrene head then carefully peeling it off and placing it on the face. If you want to create circles you can use cheap hoop earrings and cover them in wool.
-I started by blocking out the eyebrow using the spirit gum technique. I then powdered this to make sure it was matte and placed some d32 over the brow so I didn't look ashy. I then powdered again and covered the brow with concealer. I think I need to work on this as the brow was not completely flat.
-I then moved on to the base using Mac full coverage foundation. I think my colour selection was a bit fair so next time I will mix a darker tone in.
-I then used the same technique as last week to contour and highlight the face.
-This week I added a secondary contour using a very dark tone on top of the darker shade I had already selected to contour with. This is a technique I would defiantly use again as it added a lot of dimension to the face.
-My next step was to apply a layer of mascara to the lashes.
-I then set the foundation with a translucent powder only using this lightly as I wanted to leave a glow to the skin
-The next thing I did was mix a good consistency with my black aqua colour with this I created a pattern on the face using a variation of thin and thick line. One area I struggled with during this process was the brows as I was having to fight against the texture slightly.I also found making very thin lines a bit of a struggle. This may be due to the brush I was using but it might also be because I had too much product on my brush.
-After this I added some thread to the face complementing my design . I added this in three loops under the eye which I think complented the swirls in my design. If I were to so this again I would probably use wool rather than thread as I don't feel that the thread showed up very well due to it being so thin.
-I then selected a lip colour that matched the thread. This tied my look together nicely.
