Adding Hair Pieces

You would add hair pieces to give extra volume or length to the hair.


To add the hair piece I first sectioned off the hair then made some pin curls along the hair that I had sectioned off. I then used these pin curls as my basis to pin the hair piece in.


I made sure to work from the bottom of the hair up so that the extensions did not get in my way.

Other methods include creating a small plait and sewing it on to the plait, to remove this you would cut the stitches out.
Gluing the extensions into to the hair this is good if your artists is going to be moving around a lot.


Another thing we looked at today were switches. These are good for buns and ponytails if you don't have a lot of length with your models natural hair. I then created a large bun with a hair piece unfortunately it did not match the hair colour of my doll head but if it had it would have been more effective.
